# Indoor car storage

A closed building keeps snow, salt, sun, hail and bird droppings off the car. It does not keep the cold out, and for most modern cars it does not need to. Send your details and we find indoor space near you.

## What indoor storage usually means

A spot in a warehouse, a shared garage or an underground level, with other stored cars around yours. The building is closed and locked, and you usually get in by appointment.

It is not heated, so the inside temperature follows the weather, more slowly. Cars sit through the cold with no harm if the battery is looked after and the tank is full.

## Questions to ask an indoor facility

- When can I get in?: Set hours, by appointment, or not until the end of the term.
- Is there power at the spot?: Needed for a battery tender. Not every building has outlets near each car.
- Who moves the cars?: In shared buildings, staff may move cars to reach others. Ask who drives yours and whether keys stay on site.
- What about rodents?: Ask about pest control and plan your own: blocked exhaust, no food inside, traps if allowed.
- What insurance do they need?: Many ask for comprehensive coverage and proof of ownership.

**Indoor or heated: which do I need?**

**Is indoor storage worth it over outdoor?**

**Can I store an SUV or pickup indoors?**

Yes, tell us the height, especially with a roof rack or lift. Some underground levels have low clearance.
